Description

The course introduction to Knowledge Engineering (KE) offers a comprehensive overview of the core topics in KE, both from a mathematical and from a computer scientific perspective. As such it will touch upon many topics that are addressed in much more detail in the bachelor programme.

Knowledge and understanding

The student acquires a global view of the domain of knowledge engineering.
Students learn to recognize applications of knowledge engineering in many different domains.

Making Judgements

Upon completion of the course, students are able to recognize the relevant domains of knowledge engineering when confronted with KE-problems.

Communication

Students are able to communicate the main KE-ideas to an audience of non-experts.

Skills

Students have acquired the learning skills for enrolling follow- up educational programmes that require a high level of autonomy.
